Watsup! It's me Cassel, the lead developer of Ratropolis.
Thanks to many people who loves Ratropolis, we were able to achieve the target amount of sponsorship!!

< It's still hard to believe what has happened to us >
Many fans, reviewers, viral marketers, and streamers have been introducing Ratropolis to the crowd
and we were really impressed by that, and we wish to make Ratropolis complete just for you.
In the mean time, we focused on adding contents to the game.
I will introduce the developments that have been made.
- Swollen Plague –
The 'monsters' you think as cats are actually rats with plague.
I was always felt bad because the concept of plague was not shown in the game.
So this time, I tried to express the process of transmission of plague by adding an enemy undergoing plague.

< Diseased Rat >
A sick mouse is the weakest enemy unit in the game. The movement is slow and the attack power is low.
But one scary thing about sick mice is that they spread the plague in the city in no time at all.
When the city's buildings are destroyed by plagued units, sick mice appear in the building.
Especially when a city building is destroyed by a ranged plagued enemy like a Plague Spitter,
City can be damaged behind the line of defense. So a strategic urban construction plan is needed.

< Plague Spitter set out a plague in the city!! >
- New Elite Enemy –
Like Abomination that was added before, we created other plague rats into a bigger and powerful form.
Upcoming characters are Nocturne and Death Spitter.
Both are focused on reducing the number of guards in condensed formation.
In the case of Nocturne, it evades projectiles by quickly jumping over the defensive wall.
It is given a splash melee with a low attack power.
Tier 1 Guards are easy prey from Nocturne, if it happens to fly behind the line of defense.
In order to prevent this, you must operate enough melee units to stop them from jumping.

< Wah... what a disaster >
Slightly different from Plague Spitter, Death Spitter charge its ranged projectiles for some time.
When Death Spitter is fully charged, it fires multiple projectiles damaging troops in wide range.
So, it is best to get rid of it before charging ends.
Spitters only aim on line of defense and constructions.
Group of melee units can easily defeat Spitters.
However, if guards are stationed near buildings or defensive wall, they might suffer devastating damage.

< Grrrr awkwak >
- Modification on Weasel Chieftain –
We reworked the Weasel Chieftain, a boss from wave 20.
Current Weasel Chief's special abilities were buffs that increased the attack and movement speed of nearby weasels.
However, it was effective only when there were weasels nearby, and it was very disappointing.
Chieftain's appearance did not seem threatening enough for players to feel a sense of crisis.
I wanted Wave 20 boss to emit dreadfulness and power, so players feel crisis facing it.
So the Weasel Chieftain's main ability was changed to charge and destroy the line of defense.
Drawing in my head a picture of the weasels killing the runaway rats after the defenses were fallen.
The problem was that it was not easy to add charge animation to the existing Chieftain.
So we made a new weasel chieftain with the dash animation.
The result was him riding on the baby boar.

< New Weasel Chieftain >
I am satisfied that the quality is higher and the features are also better.
We will continue to make further changes if we have units that we think need to change like the Weasel Chieftain.
- Wave Configuration Changes –
With the addition of new enemy units, we have changed the waves.
On the previous round, Nocturne might show up and on next round, plague spitter...
I've added randomness to wave configuration so that each round has a slightly different experience.
Later, when new enemies to new theme are in place,
I think it will be a game that gives more variety of fun.

< Mice that were kicked out of the forest arrive in the desert... What is it there? >
- New Friendly Unit –
We are adding militia, a unit that can be temporarily used, and a medical unit, a support unit that restores health point.
The militia is a close-range military unit with no particular capability.
Instead, it's cost effective and easy to use, so it's effective in temporarily defending the enemies in early stage.
You can also acquire Militia card by the effects of other skill cards.
We are implementing it so that in an emergency situation, the player will be able to deploy militia at once.

< Milita the policeman >
Originally, we gave with a Shield rat card at the start of the game,
However, the difficulty was too low, we decided to give Milita card at the start of the game.
This way, the Shield Rat may also get rework, and gain more strength.
Medic is a supportive character that restores the health of a single friendly unit at regular intervals.
Melee units last longer and withstand enemy for longer duration.
After defeating an enemy invasion, you can heal low health friendly units.

< Medic >
I still need to refine the functionality of the medic, but it is a character that is expected to fit in the game.
In this development diary, I tried to cover details of new units thoroughly.
This week, I dealt with necessary administrative procedures such as steam registration, game developer / distributor registration, etc.
Even though I watched the game registration procedure in detail and followed it, I feel it is more complicated than I thought.
In next episode, we will work on the other units and plan to implement various events.
